First meeting with the new boat yard, a cunning plan.

Today was the first meeting with Max from Johanson's Boat Yard, Rockland, Maine. The boat was moved there at the end of May 2024. The yard having been recommended to us and we briefly met with Max, the manager when we visited in April and were impressed with his knowledge and passion for boats. Although I woke this morning feeling a bit overwhlemed with the amount that needs to be done for this project, the meeting with Max inspired and motivated me. Having bought some Makita drills/tools and some knee pads I felt ready to start the next phase, although $500 down on the account. The plan at this point is for Johansons to work with me, a partnership, sharing the work to be as efficiently as possible and within budget. They will provide a quote for dropping the rudder, whilst I plan to lift the floor boards, removing the furniture to allow full access to the tri-axal. The keel will be dropped and a jig set up to ensure everything is in trim on the keel, also checking out the keel bolts to ensure they are fine.
